About Us
Erva
Erva Tool & Die Company was founded in 1967 by Walter Heyek, a toolmaker from Vienna. The original location was a small shop on Elston Avenue in Chicago, which eventually grew into a larger facility on Milwaukee avenue. Originally the company made machine tools and then custom metal components for a variety of industries and products, including office equipment such as typewriters.
The company is now a manufacturer of its own line of products, primarily for the lawn & garden industry. Our products can be found in garden centers and nature stores around the country. The company is currently led by Walter's son Erwin, and Erwin's son Nick represents the third generation of Heyeks at Erva. We manufacture virtually all of our products at our Grand Avenue factory.
